WhatToExpect

WHAT CAN I EXPECT FOR MY CHILD?

Every child is unique. At The Summit Preparatory Academy, that’s something to celebrate!

“I praise You for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are wonderful, I know that full well. ”-Psalm 139:14

We believe kids learn best when teachers understand that learning styles vary from child to child and when learning happens in a supportive, encouraging atmosphere with a positive direction.

Excellent Academic Training

At The Summit, we will help your child:

  • Prepare for kindergarten and elementary school
  • Develop a recognition and formation of vowels and consonants
  • Boost language development and grow healthy listening skills
  • Begin reading and increase their comprehension skills
  • Learn to count and understand basic number concepts
  • Utilize and expand computer skills

Sound like a lot? It is! But kids love to learn, and it can be amazing how good they are at it! We utilize the Classical Education model because it works.  Your child’s formative years can provide a great launching pad for future academic success, and we aim to give him or her the best.

Invaluable Moral Instruction

Our teachers lead by example, exhibiting and teaching:

  • Non-denominational Christian values
  • A basic instruction of good and bad, right and wrong

Our teachers focus on praise and positive redirection and, just as importantly—creating lasting relationships with your child and with you.

Outstanding Character Development

Essential values taught and displayed by our teachers include:

  •  Honesty, integrity, joyfulness, respect, character and responsibility.

Teachers must exemplify the same characteristics you desire to see in your child. Kids learn a great deal by examples set for them, so we hold our teachers to the highest standards.

Our curriculum is cyclical, so your child may enroll at any time during the year and never feel as though he or she is lagging behind other students.

We also provide extra-curricular programs such as Soccer Shots (seasonally) and Charles Harding Gymnastics.

"Summit Prep is everything any parent could ever want in a school. I’m not even sure where to start in this testimonial, they have exceeded my expectations in every way imaginable. It oozes awesome from the moment you pull in the parking lot. The attention to detail can be seen in everything from how nice the building is to how clean the facilities are. You can’t get in the front door without an access card, the added sense of security for that feature alone adds so much trust in this place when you drop your children off."

"If you are looking for a place where your child can grow in the Lord, learn everything they need to know for Kindergarten and have structure in a loving environment, this is the place for you. My daughter is four and is READING. Yes! Reading! And has stopped me in my tracks when quoting scripture and applying it to her every day life. She gets it, and she’s so little. Her teachers and the Summit have been a huge blessing in our lives. It just wouldn’t be the same without them. They will set your children up for success."

"Chase has separation anxiety not unlike many children, however his was a little more extreme than most. He cried at drop off for a very long time. His teachers were wonderful at comforting him and he would typically stop by the time I left the building. It was hard at first to leave him while he was crying but his teachers would do everything they could to help including holding, cuddling and/or distracting him if needed. I would have never been able to leave him crying if I didn’t feel absolutely sure that he would be taken care of. Now almost 1.5 years later he loves school, a lot of times he doesn’t want to leave in the afternoon. He has learned so much and made many friends, which is exactly what we wanted for him. The awesome teachers and staff really make sure the kids are ready for school and life. We would recommend The Summit 100%."

"Knox started at Summit Preparatory Academy in September 2013. He was 18 months at the time, transitioning from a home-based daycare.  As we were approaching the two-year mark, we felt it was time for a more structured, learning based environment. We could not be happier with this decision! Knox is so happy at Summit, and his attitude and communication skills prove it. He leaves everyday singing and dancing the whole way home! He has developed so much from Day One. Thank you to the Faculty and Staff of Summit Preparatory Academy for providing unmatchable care. We are so grateful, and look forward to spending the next few years with you!"

"Speaking of trust, from the top down, the faculty and teachers here are top notch. I have two children and we are coming up on our third year here, they have become more of a family at this point. We see many of the teachers outside of school at community functions and church and many of them I consider friends. The Summit is involved in SO MANY community activities that the children are also able to participate in. You can bet every holiday they will have something fun going on. I think my favorite was when my daughter got to be an angel in the White House Christmas parade. In the Spring Elizabeth started the week of the child. They had picnics, ice cream treats, bounce houses, gymnastics and soccer! They offer gymnastics year round and soccer in the spring as well. My oldest child is in both and absolutely loves the sports and the coaches."
